Biography Of The Chrisagis Brothers

Brian and Shawn Chrisagis were identical twin brothers known as The Chrisagis Brothers who became international sensations in Christian music. They released 14 CDs, launched a line of children's toys, wrote and illustrated books and produced a TV series for the family. They were born 3 months premature due to life threatening allergies and their mother’s weak heart. The doctors found that they were allergic to nearly everything including most foods, fabrics and the outdoors. As a result they lived the first two years of their lives in hospital incubators. The doctors eventually felt there was nothing more they could do for them and sent them home without much hope for their survival. Brian and Shawn lived the next 5 years confined to their home since they were severely allergic to everything under the sun, including the sun.

In 1976, when they were 7 years old, their mother went to a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Meeting and learned about the power of prayer and breaking generational curses.  She was healed of her heart condition and the boys were completely healed of their allergies.  They not only became walking miracles but knew they had a powerful call on their lives. At the age of 12 they were prophesied over by prophet Dick Mills telling them they would go to Hollywood, help set captives free and take over the land for Jesus. That prophecy was confirmed over the years and came to pass.

The brothers had a huge successful ministry for over 40 years. They traveled the world with their music ministry and won The Extraordinary People Awards ‘Best Christian Duo of the Year’. They received many other award nominations for their recordings including a Pre-Grammy nomination for their CD ‘Ransom’.  They were the first Christian artists on MTV with their hit songs ‘Jesus Everywhere I Go’, ‘Spare a Prayer’ and ‘Barbies, Bad Guys and Guns’.  Their song ‘Split Second’ won for ‘Best Music Video’ and they were both nominated for ‘Best Male Vocalist’. Among their many other nominations were ’Best Duo’. ’Song of the Year’, ’Best CD’ and ‘Stage Fashion Trailblazers’.

The brothers became known for their handsome GQ model looks, their flashy outfits, their hysterical humor, and their powerful testimony which caught the attention of many in Hollywood. They filmed three TV pilots. In 2014 they filmed a TV reality pilot for A&E Network called ’Saved by the Brothers’.  In 2019 they filmed another TV pilot episode for Rossetti Productions called ’Double Occupancy’. They wrote and starred in several variety specials for Christian TV and appeared on the TV show ‘Candid Camera’ as twins who played pranks in shopping malls. They created ‘Christmas with the Stars’ which was a yearly celebration featuring Hollywood greats like Stefanie Powers, Erik Estrada, Lindsay Wagner, Loni Anderson, Lorenzo Lamas,  Catherine Bach, Cindy Williams, Barry Williams,  Jake the Snake Roberts, Jennifer O'Neill, Jack Scalia, and a ton of others.

They also created a women's conference entitled ‘All That Glitters’ featuring women from Hollywood who shared their testimonies, plus a men's conference called ‘Fishers of Men’.

They created the highly successful yearly concert series called ‘Legends’ featuring CCM Christian recording artists who were Grammy and Dove Award winners of the past. Some of the featured stars were Sandi Patty, Russ Taff, Michael English, Adam Crabb, Wes Hampton, Wayne Watson, Reba Rambo, Carman, John Schlitt, and true pioneers of the Jesus movement like Evie Tornquist, Scott Wesley Brown, The Archers, Farrell and Farrell, Stephanie Boosahda, and many others. With all this success the twins stayed busy doing their own concerts all over the U.S. and even international travels with their Christian cruises. They had three different Radio Shows where they interviewed their friends from Hollywood like Cheryl Ladd, Kevin Sorbo, Jaclyn Smith, Joe Penny, Lucy Arnez, Lou Feringno, Cristina Ferrare and many more.

The brothers never let grass grow under their feet and in 2018 they wrote a book about their early years entitled ‘A Legacy of Love’.

Their 2019 CD release ’Color of Love’ and the 2021 CD release of ’Let Heaven Overflow’ were both best sellers with beautiful songs that touched hearts and lives with the message of God’s enduring Love.

They had a thriving YouTube channel with over 500 videos and nearly one million views representing their 40 years of ministry.  In late 2018 it was hacked and all the content was tragically deleted. After a year long attempt with no help from YouTube or Google the majority of the videos are now gone forever.

The Chrisagis Brothers have been featured in tons of magazines i.e.: ‘Salt and Light’, ‘Charisma’, ‘Most Eligible Bachelors’, ‘The Globe’, ‘The Enquirer’, ‘Soap Opera Digest’ and ’Christian Vogue’. They were considered to be a major influence in the Christian arena by being on every major Christian TV network over the years as well as being movers and shakers in the Hollywood arena. They fulfilled the call God put on their lives and operated in a true anointing.

Sadly, Shawn Chrisagis passed away suddenly in June of 2023.  (Please click the Shawns tribute button below to read the tribute.) Brian was beyond devastated .  He has recently started a podcast called ‘I Pressed On’ that he hopes will help those, like himself, who have faced hardship and tragedy as his guests share what has helped them in their life's journey.
